
Coordinator of Volunteer Recruitment

Position Overview
This position is responsible for recruiting and engaging volunteers for the Agency. This position is responsible for maintaining contact with the Tarrant County community and generating leads to recruit volunteers and retaining them through community occasions such as events, festivals, and tours. To succeed in this role, you will need to communicate well and multi-task under tight deadlines.

Hourly, Non-Exempt Full-Time Employee
Hours of Operation
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM Friday
Reports To
Vice President Volunteer Services
Other Relationships
Works with the Volunteer Services department, Operations department, Client Services department, Meals On Wheels Board Members, Community Volunteers and Meals On Wheels clients
Aggency expectation of employee
Maintain confidentiality of client, donor, volunteer, staff and board information
Support the mission, vision and goals of Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County
Represent Meals On Wheels in a professional manner at all times
Must have dependable transportation, valid driver license and personal vehicle insurance as required by the State of Texas
Required to pass criminal background check and have a free and clear MVR
Assist with meal delivery when volunteer callouts make it necessary for staff to deliver
Contribute to other projects when necessary
Essential Job Tasks
Community outreach to recruit volunteers with business, faith-based organizations, civic groups, and community networking
Work with Vice President of Volunteer Services and with other Vol to develop a strong and robust recruitment strategy
Proactively seek, foster, and facilitate mutually beneficial connections for volunteer recruitment purposes.
Utilize the Community Asset Mapping approach to recruit volunteers, i.e. recruit volunteers strategically around the open routes in need of volunteers
Attend the Agency’s information booth at events and festivals to recruit volunteers and coordinate with volunteers to staff booths at recruitment events
Enlist cooperation of community leaders to help increase awareness of Meals On Wheels volunteer partnership opportunities
Maintain recruiting records and follow up with correspondence to potential volunteers
Work with other members of the Volunteer Services Team to plan volunteer appreciation events
Attend community functions and activities that introduce or deepen engagement of the public in the Agency’s mission
Create digital content for online volunteer recruitment and maintain postings on volunteer recruitment platforms
Assist in the development of volunteer recruitment content such as fliers, brochures, and other deliverables
Cross train and fill in for Scheduling Coordinator and Routing Coordinator duties as necessary
This position will require evening and weekend hours. When this occurs, the schedule will be adjusted (flexed) accordingly to maintain a standard work schedule.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
At least two years recruiting, marketing, and/or talent acquisition experience in a small business
on-profit environment
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Requirements
Excellent presentation skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Outlook
Organized, proactive, solution-focused, good interpersonal skills, works independently, confident
Strong knowledge of talent acquisition best practice and protocol
Able to lift and carry objects of 25 pounds
Capable of moving meeting room tables and chairs, as needed
Physically able to reach, stretch, bend and sit for several hours at a time
Experience
Relevant experience or knowledge and skills preferred
Expertise using professional networks, online communities and social media
