
Scheduling Coordinator

Overview
Medix Infusion is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. The coordinator will be responsible for scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient infusion appointments, and will communicate professionally with referral sources and patients. The role collaborates closely with the Insurance, Intake, Pharmacy, and Clinical departments to manage patient care while promoting compassionate, high‑quality standards.
Job Details
Full‑time. Onsite at our corporate office, open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule and reschedule patient appointments according to physician orders.
Cancel appointments as directed and complete appropriate follow‑up.
Review patient medical records and orders prior to upcoming appointments to ensure orders are valid, future appointments are scheduled, and overbooking has not occurred.
Update schedules as changes occur and follow up with any identified deficiencies in the scheduling process.
Document timely and accurately in the EMR system.
Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary teams, including pharmacy, insurance, and third‑party entities.
Communicate new patient appointments with referral sources.
Complete follow‑up tasks as assigned.
Ensure work is completed in a timely manner to prevent delays in patient care.
Attend departmental meetings and in‑services as requested.
Assist with the orientation and training of staff.
Demonstrate courteous, compassionate, and professional behavior at all times.
Be proficient in computer skills, including Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel.
Perform all other assigned duties.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in medical insurance verification, patient scheduling, as a Medical Assistant, or other healthcare environment.
Local candidates only.
Medical Assistant with 2 years office experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be organized and work well under fast‑paced conditions.
Physical Demands
Employees may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, and hear; prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, and reading may occur. Occasional lifting or moving of up to 30 pounds is required. Vision abilities required include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff.
