Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified Board-Certified Neurological Surgeon to provide locum coverage for various scheduled dates. The role involves both clinic and on-call responsibilities, with an emphasis on complex spine cases. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care in a collaborative setting, while maintaining professional flexibility. The candidate must be proficient in fluoroscopy and possess valid California licensure and DEA credentials. The start date is April 30, 2026, with additional dates to follow.
Required Skills
- Board Certification in Neurosurgery
- Active California Medical License and DEA registration
- Fluoroscopy certification (temporary certification acceptable)
- Proven clinical experience with complex spine cases
- Ability to work independently during assigned shifts, including weekends and overnight call
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with emergency neurosurgical procedures
- Prior locum or hospital-based coverage experience
- Familiarity with hospital privileging processes and documentation
Preferred Education and Experience
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- 3-5 years post-residency practice in neurosurgery
- Demonstrated expertise in spinal and cranial surgeries, with a case log showing recent surgical volume (minimum 100 cases in the past 2 years)
- Current hospital clinical activity in neurosurgery with minimal gaps
Other Requirements
- Coverage dates: April 30 - May 5, June 1 - June 8, with potential additional assignments
- Availability to work scheduled clinic hours (8:30 am - 5 pm) and on-call shifts (including 24-hour weekend coverage)
- Willingness to submit case logs and assist during the privileging process
- Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00 (competitive scheduling accompanied by comprehensive benefits)
- Travel, licensure, certification, and other reimbursements as applicable
