Overview
A large-site development contractor is seeking an experienced
Controller
to lead accounting operations and support the financial performance of the company and its affiliates.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining accurate financials, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and providing insight to support strategic decisions. The right candidate will have a strong background in
construction accounting , leadership experience, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all accounting functions, including
AP, AR, and payroll
Oversee
job costing, AIA billing, subcontract tracking, and WIP reporting
Prepare
monthly and year-end financial statements
across multiple entities
Monitor and manage
weekly cash flow
Support
budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Ensure compliance with
federal and state tax filings
(1099s, sales and use tax, etc.)
Coordinate with external accountants and advisors
Oversee
insurance programs , including renewals and certificates of insurance
Serve as a key contact for
vendors, customers, IT providers, and insurance carriers
Develop and improve
accounting processes and internal controls
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
Qualifications
Active CPA required , with prior public accounting experience
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong leadership and communication skills
