Job Description Summary
This position will oversee and coordinate daily warehousing activities. Responsible for receiving, storing, shipping and delivering Aviagen warehouse goods. The goal is to ensure that daily operations meet and exceed performance expectations.
Schedule
Monday – Friday (7am-4pm)
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse
Operating warehouse equipment
Compliance to safety and biosecurity regulations
Unloading shipments
Organizing inventory
Packing orders
Ensuring accurate shipping and site delivery
Responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods and materials from a warehouse to various locations, including:
Loading and unloading vehicles
Securing cargo
Driving large delivery vehicles
Maintaining delivery records
Ensuring the proper care of the vehicles and goods
Detailed Responsibilities
Receiving and Processing Shipments of Incoming products: Unloading and unpacking incoming goods, verifying accuracy against invoices, and inspecting for damage.
Inventory: Storing, organizing, and retrieving goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and conducting periodic inventory counts.
Order Fulfillment: Picking, packing, and palletizing orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Equipment Operation: Operating warehouse equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery for efficient movement of goods.
Loading and Unloading: Using hand trucks, forklifts, or other equipment to safely load and unload box trucks and trailers.
Driving: Operating company vehicles to deliver goods to various locations, following traffic laws, biosecurity and safety procedures. Clean and washing delivery truck(s) as necessary.
Vehicle Maintenance: Inspecting vehicles for mechanical issues and reporting any problems.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records including receiving logs, shipping logs, pickup logs, inventory, cleaning logs, vehicle wash logs, and mileage logs.
Collaboration: Working with team members to achieve efficiency and productivity goals.
Biosecurity and Safety: Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, adhering to safety and biosecurity regulations, and reporting any hazards. Observing safe workplace practices and procedures and maintaining biosecurity when loading, unloading, and transporting cargo.
Other Tasks: Assisting with other warehouse duties as deemed necessary, such as cleaning, maintenance or special projects.
Safety and Legal Requirements
Applicants are not allowed to own any kind of birds due to the risk of possible disease transmission.
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Job Qualifications
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, push and pull large rolling product bins, bend and stoop, reach overhead, walk and stand for extended periods.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Appropriate math, reading, and handwriting skills.
Safely operate pallet jack, forklift, and other equipment and obtain forklift certification.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Work in outside environment (receiving/delivery - including inclement weather) and non-air-conditioned indoor facility.
Ability to learn inventory software, databases and systems as deemed appropriate to perform job duties.
