Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Expeditor for a contract-to-hire opportunity in San Antonio, TX. This role is responsible for driving and tracking all pre-delivery document submittals in alignment with contract requirements and project schedules.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in improving supplier on-time delivery performance by actively managing document workflows, identifying risks, and resolving issues before they impact project timelines. This position requires strong communication, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and track supplier document submittals to ensure compliance with contract requirements and project schedules
Expedite new, missing, or returned documents with suppliers and Engineering teams
Conduct weekly analysis of supplier documentation performance and drive improvement initiatives
Lead expediting calls with suppliers and internal project teams
Participate in weekly Engineering and Project Expediting meetings, providing status updates on document submittals
Identify, elevate, and help resolve ongoing supplier documentation issues
Ensure timely delivery of equipment, materials, and documentation in support of project milestones
Support Advanced Work Packaging by providing updates on deliverables
Prepare meeting agendas and publish meeting minutes
Provide clear and consistent communication to all stakeholders regarding document status
Support expediting efforts using various tools and systems as required
Travel up to 25% and potentially work onsite at fabrication facilities or job sites
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
1–3 years of experience in expediting, document control, or project coordination
Experience supporting project deliverables tied to schedules in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or similar environments
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks based on deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor's degree
2–5 years of experience in expediting or document control within industrial or construction environments
Experience supporting large industrial construction projects
Experience leading or mentoring team members
Working knowledge of Oracle systems
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
