Construction Scheduler – Data Center Projects (Onsite – Des Moines, IA)
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 40 hrs/week
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Construction Scheduler
to support large‑scale, ground‑up data center construction projects. This role is highly collaborative and requires strong expertise with
Primavera P6 , site progress analysis, and project forecasting. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project timelines, critical paths, and deliverables stay on track.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and oversee detailed construction schedules using
Primavera P6 .
Perform
regular site walks
to assess actual progress and identify potential risks or delays.
Build and update
project forecasts
based on site observations and stakeholder input.
Facilitate
Interactive Planning Sessions (IPS)
with discipline leads, vendors, and client partners.
Establish, track, and report on the
critical path
throughout the project lifecycle.
Communicate schedule progress and insights clearly to site leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Monitor risks, create contingency plans, and provide data‑driven recommendations.
Prepare and present updates for senior leadership, adapting detail level to the audience.
Comply with all required policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Experience
8–10 years
of experience as a Planner/Scheduler on construction projects.
Expert proficiency in Primavera P6
(this is the top requirement).
Strong skills in
Excel
and schedule analysis.
Experience with
data center construction
or other large‑scale technical builds.
Ability to interpret EPC schedules, analyze trends, and identify issues/mitigations.
Strong understanding of
Critical Path Methodology (CPM) , Earned Value Management, and key commodity tracking.
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple schedules simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Construction Management , Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with MS Project, Visio, Bluebeam, or other project management tools.
What a Typical Day Looks Like
Conduct on‑site walks to verify actual progress.
Update the construction schedule in
Primavera P6
to reflect real‑time conditions.
Provide detailed and high‑level reporting on schedule forecasts and progress measurements.
Collaborate with engineers, construction managers, and procurement teams to maintain schedule accuracy.
