Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the front desk operations during overnight shifts while ensuring the accuracy of daily financial transactions and reports. This role combines customer service with accounting duties, requiring attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. The Night Auditor ensures a smooth guest experience during nighttime hours, reconciles daily revenue, and prepares reports for management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage front desk operations during overnight shifts
Check in late-arriving guests and handle checkouts as needed
Reconcile daily financial transactions and balance accounts
Generate and distribute daily reports for management
Monitor and respond to guest inquiries and requests
Ensure security and safety protocols are followed overnight
Audit room rates, charges, and payment methods for accuracy
Assist with reservations and room assignments
Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance for early-morning needsMaintain accurate records of occupancy and revenue
Prepare the front desk for the morning shift transition

Education and/or Experience
6 months or more of front desk experience; preferably with brand experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
May be required to hold a current TABC (TX) or RVSP (LA) certification.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time and occasionally sit. The employee must occasionally lift, pull, push, and/or move up to 25 pounds.
