Description
The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry (UIC COD) seeks candidates to serve as Dental Clinic Clerks. The role supports patient services across Pre‑doctoral Clinics, Specialty Clinics, and Office for Financial Affairs.
Checking in patients and verifying insurance at the point of contact
Establishing and maintaining dental charts
Collecting and posting all forms of patient payments
Scheduling and confirming appointments
Interacting with patients, faculty, staff, and students in a professional manner
Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent.
One year (12 months) of experience:
A. Certified Dental Assistant in a dental clinic facility, program, or dentistry practice, if required by the employing institution.
B. Credit for college/university coursework and/or training in dental care, health‑care related areas, or closely related medical/dental areas:
15 semester hours = 6 months
30 semester hours = 12 months
C. Customer service/management experience in a medical/dental setting.
Must be bilingual in English/Spanish.
Preferred qualifications include experience in cash handling, ability to multitask and prioritize workload, and positive interpersonal communication skills to achieve customer satisfaction.
