Talent Software Services is in search of an Audio Visual Assistant for a contract position in Cambridge, MA. The opportunity will be three months with a strong chance for a long‑term extension.
Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and customer‑focused Audio Visual Assistant to provide multimedia support for university courses and events on campus. This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands‑on technical experience in a fast‑paced academic environment. No prior AV experience is required – comprehensive, ongoing training on all equipment, workflows, and spaces will be provided.
Primary Responsibilities

Event & Class‑room Support: Assist faculty, students, and staff with the set‑up and use of classroom multimedia, including projecting teaching materials from PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Sheets, and internet media sources.
Equipment Handling: Check out AV equipment, safely transport it across campus to classrooms, and properly check it back into the main office after classes end.
Basic Recording & Operation: Under direction, assist in recording teaching sessions in classrooms and labs (training provided on camera panning/zooming to capture instructor movement).
Troubleshooting & Escalation: Provide basic troubleshooting for sound systems and computer connections. Actively identify and elevate complex technical problems to senior team members or managers when necessary.
Customer Service: Ensure prompt, professional, and friendly communication with instructors, staff, and students at all times. Follow directions from staff and team leaders regarding assignments, policies, and protocols.
Qualifications

Experience: No prior AV experience required; a willingness to learn new technology is essential.
Technical Familiarity: Basic working knowledge of Windows and/or Mac systems, along with familiarity with common office and presentation software.
Soft Skills: Strong customer service orientation, excellent communication skills, and a high level of reliability and attention to detail.
Work Style: Ability to work independently while knowing when to elevate issues.
Shift Options

Candidates must be able to commit to the full hours of one of the following shift options:
Shift Option 1 (Morning):

7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (7 hours), Monday & Tuesday OR 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (7 hours), Wednesday & Thursday
Shift Option 2 (Afternoon/Evening):

2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (7 hours), Monday & Tuesday OR 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (7 hours), Wednesday & Thursday
