Audio Visual Assistant Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of an Audio Visual Assistant for a contract position in Cambridge, MA. The opportunity will be three months with a strong chance for a long-term extension. Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Audio Visual Assistant to provide multimedia support for university courses and events on campus. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on technical experience in a fast-paced academic environment. No prior AV experience is required —comprehensive, ongoing training on all equipment, workflows, and spaces will be provided. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Event & Classroom Support: Assist faculty, students, and staff with the setup and use of classroom multimedia, including projecting teaching materials from PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Sheets, and internet media sources. Equipment Handling: Check out AV equipment, safely transport it across campus to classrooms, and properly check it back into the main office after classes end. Basic Recording & Operation: Under direction, assist in recording teaching sessions in classrooms and labs (training provided on camera panning/zooming to capture instructor movement). Troubleshooting & Escalation: Provide basic troubleshooting for sound systems and computer connections. Actively identify and escalate complex technical problems to senior team members or managers when necessary. Customer Service: Ensure prompt, professional, and friendly communication with instructors, staff, and students at all times. Follow directions from staff and team leaders regarding assignments, policies, and protocols. Qualifications: Experience: No prior AV experience required; a willingness to learn new technology is essential. Technical Familiarity: Basic working knowledge of Windows and/or Mac systems, along with familiarity with common office and presentation software. Soft Skills: Strong customer service orientation, excellent communication skills, and a high level of reliability and attention to detail. Work Style: Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues. Required Shift Availability: Candidates must be able to commit to the full hours of ONE of the following shift options: Shift Option 1 (Morning): 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (7 hours), Monday & Tuesday OR 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (7 hours), Wednesday & Thursday Shift Option 2 (Afternoon/Evening): 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (7 hours), Monday & Tuesday OR 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (7 hours), Wednesday & Thursday If this job is a match for your background, we would be honoured to receive your application!
