McBain Michigan - Tie GRADER-BUNDLER (Skid Steer Operator)

National Fuel Production of Michigan seeks results-oriented individuals who place high importance on accuracy and quality at its McBain Power Station. Individuals with a background in farming and the lumber industry are strongly encouraged to apply.

Primary responsibilities include using a bobcat tracked skid steer to sort through used railroad ties. You will be visually inspecting the ties to grade them on quality and then bundle/band together. This requires alertness and awareness to ensure safety and accuracy. Our operators are efficient at staging materials and have a keen eye to ensure quality results.

To be considered, you MUST have previous experience operating a skid steer. Class A CDL is preferred.

Duties, Tasks, And Responsibilities

Operate a tracked skid steer to sort through railroad ties and bundle together based on grade.

Process ties as needed in off-track staging areas.

Requirements

Class A CDL.

Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a skid steer.

Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Work independently and be self-motivated.

Able to consistently work 60-70 hours per week.

Able to repeatedly lift 75 pounds. Strap and secure loads to trailer.

Dependable attendance.

Safety oriented mindset. Wear and utilize proper PPE.

Perform daily inspections of equipment. Checking fluid levels, topping off fluid and fueling equipment.

Reporting safety and maintenance issues.

Basic mechanical skills. Replacing hydraulic hoses, broken bolts and fittings, etc.

Good communication skills. Reporting production metrics daily.
