
Business Development Manager – Pre-Bid Estimation Services

Position Overview
Client is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth by selling pre-bid estimation services to General Contractors, Subcontractors, and Developers across the US AEC market. The role focuses on positioning expertise in quantity take-offs, detailed cost estimation, and bid support services during the bidding/tendering phase, helping clients improve estimation accuracy, efficiency, and bid win rates.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities for pre-bid estimation services
Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients across the US construction market
Engage with key decision-makers (Estimators, Preconstruction Managers, Project Executives) during bidding and tendering phases
Promote services including quantity take-offs, detailed cost estimation, bid support, and cost analysis
Lead client meetings, presentations, and capability discussions to position as a preferred estimation partner
Collaborate with internal estimation, BIM, and delivery teams to develop tailored solutions and proposals
Prepare and present commercial proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals
Maintain and grow long-term client relationships to drive repeat business and account expansion
Track market trends, bid activity, and client requirements to refine go-to-market strategy
Achieve defined revenue targets and contribute to overall business growth objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles within the AEC industry
Proven experience selling pre-bid estimation, cost consulting, or engineering/BIM services in the US market
Strong understanding of the US construction bidding and tendering lifecycle (RFQs, RFPs, bid submissions)
Established network with General Contractors, Subcontractors, or Developers (preferred)
Ability to translate technical estimation services into clear business value for clients
Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
Self-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Preferred Background
Experience working with or selling to MEP, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Fire Protection contractors
Familiarity with estimation tools and take-off software
Understanding of BIM/VDC workflows and their integration with estimation
Prior experience working with offshore delivery models or global service providers
