
Material Handler

Summary
– The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receives, processes and tags incoming material.
Moves inventory materials to their respective area.
Delivers parts to areas in the plant where work is in process.
Performs cycle counting and physical inventories as directed.
Maintains forklift trucks in clean, good working order.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to work within a team environment, communicate professionally with team members and vendors, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
Ability to organize and prioritize projects and information with accurate turnaround under tight timeframes.
Ability to identify, plan, start, and complete projects or other work that needs to be accomplished.
Preferred Qualifications
Materials or warehouse experience.
One year or more of work experience as a material handler in an industrial setting.
Experience driving a forklift or other heavy equipment.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The work environment is representative of those encountered while performing essential functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. The job requires working in hot and cold environments, in and out of weather, around heavy equipment, on top of and under railcars and near railroad tracks. PPE such as steel toe boots, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, welding and grinding shields, etc., may be required.
