Starting Pay Rate of $21.80/hour

Available Shift

Nights: 7pm - 7am

Overview
A successful corrugator operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining the machinery that produces corrugated cardboard sheets used for packaging. They ensure the continuous, efficient, and safe production of high‑quality material.

Responsibilities

Knows and fully comprehends all critical aspects of the corrugator, including its operation, preventive maintenance, and setup requirements.

Maintains all production and scrap goals consistently.

Analyzes mechanical or operational problems on the corrugator and plans and takes corrective action.

Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to ensure top quality, low scrap, and consistent productivity (e.g., cleans and adjusts rolls, air pressure, rider rolls, belts, hotplates, and the short press).

Tests equipment to ensure proper operation and that all safety devices are functional.

Examines finished product to ensure it meets or exceeds customer quality and functional expectations.

Performs preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, reports findings to shift manager and maintenance supervisor, and takes appropriate action.

Examines defects and analyzes causes of spoilage/scrap, taking corrective action as necessary and requesting help as needed.

Coaches helpers and stackers on all operating procedures and critical customer requirements.

Notifies maintenance supervisor of all corrective actions taken, of all unresolved problems, and supplies needed.

Coaches or instructs any corrugator operator trainees assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Must be a team player with a "can do" attitude.

Should possess basic mechanical skills.

Capable of working in a hot environment and where inks and lubricants are used.

Be capable of standing for long periods of time.

Frequently lift and carry 25 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Must have the ability to lift a die with assistance of another person (50‑70 lbs.).

Must be knowledgeable of quality standards and be able to train.

Must have basic troubleshooting abilities.

Good communication skills.

Must have basic computer and math skills.

Must be able to read basic English.

Due to fluctuating production levels employees may be required to work beyond normally scheduled hours or less than normally scheduled hours, including weekends or partial weekends on a scheduled basis, or be called in during unscheduled hours.

Regularly required to stand, sit, move about facility, climb stairs, bend, twist, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, and controls, grasp, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, lift above shoulder level. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
