Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician Assistant (PA) - Neurology in Lima, OH

Mercy Health St. Ritas in Lima, Ohio, is looking for a skilled Locum PA to provide exceptional inpatient neurological care. Responsibilities include providing PRN coverage from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., managing an average of 10-15 adult inpatient patients daily, and collaborating with a team of physicians and APPs. The position involves interpreting radiologic exams (unofficially), participating in code stroke response teams, and utilizing the Epic Carepath EMR system. The hospital is equipped with Lab and X-ray facilities onsite, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Required Skills:

• Valid PA licensure and certification
• Experience in inpatient neurology care
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and patient management skills
• Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Epic Carepath

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience in trauma settings
• Knowledge of radiologic exam interpretation
• Certification in stroke or critical care
• Bilingual abilities

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited PA program
• Previous inpatient neurology or trauma experience
• At least 2 years of clinical practice as a PA in a hospital setting

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to work PRN shifts, including 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Ability to obtain state licensure within approximately 60 days
• Compliance with all credentialing, licensing, and background checks
• Travel and licensure reimbursements when applicable
