Roadway Design Engineer – Project Manager
Join a growing national engineering firm shaping the future of infrastructure. We are expanding our transportation practice in Cleveland, Ohio, and are looking for an experienced project manager to lead roadway design projects.
Annual Compensation
$95,000 – $185,000 based on experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

Essential Functions
Manage scope, fees, and profitability of individual projects and a portfolio of projects.
Serve as primary contact for clients and function as project manager.
Assist in new sales with clients for whom they are managing projects.
Coordinate all internal LJB transportation disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
Apply knowledge of all nine PMP knowledge areas for each project phase:
Project Integration Management
Project Scope Management
Project Time Management
Project Cost Management
Project Quality Management
Project Human Resource Management
Project Communications Management
Project Risk Management
Project Procurement Management
Provide oversight on larger projects when design is involved.
Report employee performance to Deputy Operations Manager.
Provide information on future projects to assist staffing plans.
Assist in informal development of other employees.
Education and Credentials
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
P.E. license required; North Carolina PE preferred. Successful candidates will be expected to obtain NC PE within the first year.
Qualifications
At least 10 years of consulting or engineering experience, with 5 years of project management preferred.
Experience working on DOT design projects required; experience with multiple DOTs is a plus.
Proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint or similar CRM and Project Management software preferred.
Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil‑3D preferred.
