Quality Auditor - Engines
Summary
To ensure all products shipped to the consumer meet or exceed expectations. The Auditor will be responsible for inline verifier failure mode testing and for working with production personnel to identify failure points on verification equipment and to report findings in a professional and accurate manner.
Responsibilities
Support production by inspecting and verifying failure modes of critical gaging.
Schedule and enter data for daily critical audits.
Ensure correct verification fixture testing and maintenance schedules.
Make necessary recommendations for process improvements.
Verify manufacturing department materials and parts, assuring that they meet written specifications within established tolerances.
Work overtime or vary working hours as needed.
Attend company-provided training.
Cross-train in other quality positions to back-up or assist other quality personnel as necessary.
Challenge nonconforming product using proper chain-of-command and hold-tag procedures.
Maintain or input quality data/files as required.
Communicate necessary issues, findings, etc., to appropriate personnel.
Maintain quality inspection equipment as necessary.
Work in a safe and healthy manner, strictly following all safety rules and regulations.
Perform duties outside the assigned area as required.
Maintain a neat and organized work area.
Knowledge
Familiarity with parts, tolerances, dimensions, problem areas, various inspection equipment, reading prints, and quality terminology.
Working knowledge of PC software programs (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email) and ability to enter and retrieve data.
Ability to manage conflict and solve problems independently.
Responsibility, enthusiasm, trustworthiness, and ability to work with limited supervision.
Flexibility to cover other shifts when needed.
Performance history of quality-conscious work, good attendance, and safe work habits.
Experience & Skills
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to travel for extended periods of time for training.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical (trades certificate/diploma) diploma or equivalent training preferred.
