At our Sidney, Ohio manufacturing site, this role offers exactly that. As part of Ingersoll Rand, you’ll step into a high‑visibility position supporting a growing, high‑potential business unit where finance is deeply connected to operations. Reporting to the Controller, you’ll take ownership of key elements of the month‑end close, cost accounting, and variance analysis—while partnering directly with plant leadership to understand what’s really driving performance. This is not a back‑office role. You’ll be in the business working alongside operations, translating financials into insights, and helping guide smarter decisions across production, cost, and profitability. With shared services handling transactional work, your focus stays where it matters most: analysis, ownership, and impact.
Responsibilities
Assist the Controller with deliverables and deadlines
Perform the monthly accounting close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entry postings
Support compliance with SOX and internal controls, as well as assisting with audit requirements
Review and analyze plant variances to determine cause
Assist with excess and obsolete inventory review
Support annual standard cost process and perform ad‑hoc requests
Establish costing for all new parts and review request for all cost updates on existing parts
Ability to work in cross‑functional teams throughout the organization to drive results
Assist with accounts payable invoice approval/processing
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance
5+ years of progressive accounting experience / cost accounting in a manufacturing setting
4+ years of experience working with ERP accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE)
3+ years of hands‑on Excel experience with proficiency in formula‑driven analysis such as VLOOKUPs and PivotTables
2+ years of hands‑on experience preparing journal entries and executing month‑end close activities
2+ years of hands‑on experience with GAAP and SOX compliance, including a strong understanding of internal controls and exposure interfacing with external auditors

Pay Range
The base pay range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000 annually. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
