Position Description
Detail-oriented payroll professional with strong leadership skills and hands-on experience supporting end-to-end payroll operations. Provides temporary management coverage to ensure continuity, accuracy, and compliance in payroll processes across multiple jurisdictions. Skilled in resolving payroll issues, supporting staff, and maintaining high standards of service during transitional or peak workload periods.

Roles Responsibilities

Support end-to-end payroll processing and related operational activities to ensure accurate and timely pay for all employees.

Provide backup support to payroll team members on daily tasks to ensure accuracy, continuity, and adherence to established deadlines.

Contribute to month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring proper documentation, reconciliation, and compliance with internal reporting requirements.

Perform system testing for Oracle Time & Labor (OTL), Payroll modules, and various system enhancements or special projects to ensure accuracy and functionality.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, provincial, and local payroll regulations; stay informed of legislative changes and implement updates to payroll processes and policies as needed.

Conduct routine internal audits to verify compliance with tax laws, company policies, and other payroll-related regulatory requirements.

Provide backup support in addressing employee payroll inquiries and escalations to ensure timely resolution and a positive employee experience.

Perform other duties as assigned to support payroll operations and overall departmental needs.

Skills

At least 5 years of payroll experience within a large, complex organization.

Strong ability to break down complex information, analyze data, and clearly communicate findings.

Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and macros.

Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and redesigning processes for efficiency.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and assignments, meet deadlines, and deliver results with clear communication.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Demonstrated teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, think independently, proactively propose solutions, and embrace opportunities for growth.

Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
