Job Duties

Prepare correspondence, memorandums, and type essential forms and documents for the Classification Department.

Maintain inmate files, conduct audits on new inmates, and prepare necessary forms in the Inmate Records area.

Input data into the CDC database, retrieve and print information, and maintain classification documentation.

Receive, date‑stamp, sort, and distribute mail; handle copying, scanning, and faxing of documents.

Provide professional customer service by answering phone calls, assisting inmate families, and taking on special projects and other clerical duties as assigned.

Requirements
Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.

If selected, official college/university transcripts will be required.

Background Screening Requirement
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435 of the Florida Statutes before employment or volunteering can begin.

Employment Eligibility
The Florida Department of Corrections only hires U.S. citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. FDC uses E‑Verify to confirm eligibility after completing the I‑9 form. The Florida Department of Corrections does not currently support H‑1B Visa sponsorship.
