Shipping/Receiving Specialist- SAN Wet- Night Shift (D-Shift)

Responsibilities
Ensure all incoming and outgoing data is entered into the system.
Verify the destination of all incoming/outgoing products.
Handle product billing, maintain inventories, correct variances, and keep transportation and plant management informed.
Move WIP products and transfer data into plant production folders and into ORACLE/Discover.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure product meets company specifications before release to production.
Maintain handwritten and Excel spreadsheet cooler inventory, product log, hold log, and shipments.
Complete Tub and Lid report, trailer scheduling report, and ensure Ice Plant production reports are entered into GEMMS.
Receive and process product orders from internal and external customers, entering all orders into the computer system.
Correct orders for internal and external customers.
Schedule driver deliveries based on production orders.
Maintain trailer inventory both handwritten and in Excel.
Familiarize with product codes.
Collaborate with the team, participate in development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
Attend appropriate team meetings and foster cohesiveness on major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes.
Identify and address areas lacking cohesiveness, working with the team to resolve issues and promote synergy.
Apply Simmons’ operating systems principles and objectives, maintaining familiarity with company policies and processes.
Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
Qualifications
Technical experience: Microsoft Excel and Word required. Ten key experience preferred.
Must be able to obtain a company‑issued pallet jack license (VBM).
Industry experience preference for poultry or food processing organizations.
Minimum education: Ability to read, write English, and perform basic math skills.
Preferred education: High school diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements
Sitting and walking are required for this position, including working more or less than 40 hours a week. The area may be wet, cold, and have slippery walking surfaces.
Personal safety equipment required: non‑skid steel‑toed boots, hearing protection, and safety glasses as necessary.
Hours
Monday: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
Tuesday – Friday: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
