The Warehouse Picker 2 is responsible for performing any Warehouse Picker 1 job functions and must be able to successfully ensure the accuracy and completion of their work in a timely manner. While picking products, the Warehouse Picker 2 must maintain a continuous flow into the assigned Vertique System lanes with little to no interruption following best practices, including recycling.

Essential Functions

Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position. Position is required to work all hours necessary to ensure operations function is fulfilled, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Source all assigned conveyor lanes and move products from the picking location (pallets) onto the conveyors.

Follow the Vertique System TV monitor to select orders with the correct product, quantity, and sequence.

Ensure only products in good condition are loaded onto the conveyor lanes and keep the conveyor rollers free of plastic or cardboard debris.

Must properly handle packaged product, preventing any damage to the product.

Follow the lighting System priorities and maintain the discharge conveyor lamps in "GREEN".

Perform sequence checks at the lanes and doghouses and fix the lanes as needed promptly.

Communicate with Lead/Supervisor, forklift operators, and system operators via radio throughout shift about the assigned lanes status regarding product needs, product jams, clear false discharges, empty pallets, and damages collection.

Identify needs and assist other areas when appropriate.

Pull empty pallets, damaged product, and shrink wrap out of the pick areas and move to collection areas.

Bail the cardboard and plastic waste from the operational process using compactors.

Recycle operations – sort and dispose of damaged items in the respective recycle bins, segregating packing materials accordingly.

Register all damaged items to be removed from inventory in the damaged logs.

Sanitation – maintain cleanliness of equipment and building. The areas must be clean and always organized. Must be swept and clean of all trash, pallet pieces, and all debris. Trash must be dumped. In the case of any product spill, mop as needed to keep the floors clean and dry.

Use proper lifting techniques to avoid injuries and follow the BRC safety practices.

Make sound decisions and multitask simultaneously without constant supervision.

Adhere to the standard operating procedures.

Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program GMPs as listed in Code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section 110. Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes. Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.

Other assigned duties as needed.

Required Education and Experience

Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) – Preferred.

Experience:

Must have at least one (1) year of work experience in a similar role.

Skills:

Must be able to read product packaging and communicate in English via radio.
