Summary / Objective
Buffalo Rock is an award‑winning Pepsi and Keurig Dr Pepper bottler founded in Birmingham, AL more than 123 years ago. Buffalo Rock manages the best beverage portfolio in the country, which includes several beloved global and regional brands. The Forklift Operator (Clamp) will be responsible for building pallets with full layers of cases using a specially fitted forklift. The Operator will ensure the efficient flow of products within the Central Hub Distribution Center and will be able to cross‑train and perform any job functions of other Forklift Operators’ positions.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities)

Regular and timely attendance; position requires all hours necessary to ensure operations flow, including nights, weekends, holidays.

Operate different types of forklifts (stand‑up, sit‑down, clamp) ensuring safe and efficient movement of products.

Perform pre‑trip inspections on all power equipment via InfoLink.

Follow all driving work rules and be aware of surroundings.

Report equipment malfunctions, accidents, and incidents to management.

Build pallets of full‑layer cases per container label request with accuracy.

Wrap all build pallets with stretch wrapper station.

Replenish layer line pick locations during shift.

Rotate stock using the Location Base Inventory (LBI) process (FEFO).

Move product from backstock to pick locations, registering transactions into WMS using tablets, phones, and RF scanners.

Operate and troubleshoot stretch wrapper station; replenish wrapper film.

Handle packaged products properly to avoid damage.

Collect, sort, and move empty pallets to designated locations.

Move and dispose of damaged goods to recycling areas.

Communicate abnormal or damaged conditions to Lead/Supervisor.

Assist other areas when needed.

Maintain organization and cleanliness of equipment and work area; mop spills.

Use proper lifting techniques and follow BRC safety practices.

Make sound decisions and multitask without constant supervision.

Adhere to SOPs and work instructions.

Follow GMPs as per CFR 21 Part 110; participate in food safety training and report issues.

Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Work Environment
In‑warehouse conditions vary from extreme heat to extreme cold; both indoor and outdoor work required.

Physical Demands
The role requires repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs and intermittent lifting up to 30 lbs per shift; moving and stacking pallets up to 65 lbs; requires vision, hearing, and ability to work in a fast‑paced warm environment; must wear PPE such as high‑visibility shirt/vest, slip‑resistant shoes, safety glasses.

Education

High School Graduate or GED – Preferred.

Experience

At least one year in a warehouse environment.

At least one year forklift experience.

Preferred experience with RF scanners and WMS.

Skills

Read product packaging and communicate in English via radio.

Pass forklift certification.

Basic math and use of Warehouse Management Systems.

Learn to operate Tenant Scrubber.
