Job Description
As a Chemical Operator Level 2 at Solstice, you will play a crucial role in the production and operation of chemical processes. Drawing upon your expertise in chemical operations, you will ensure the safe and efficient manufacturing of high-quality chemical products. You will work alongside a team of skilled operators and technicians to monitor and control the production process, troubleshoot any issues, and maintain a high level of quality and productivity. Your attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols will be essential in maintaining a safe working environment. You will report directly to a shift Front Line Supervisor (FLS) on a rotating shift work schedule. In this role, you will impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our chemical manufacturing processes, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
Responsibilities
Participates in continuous improvement events and routinely participates in 5S activities.
Actively participates in shift relief (Tier 1 meeting).
Shuts down process units during emergencies and alerts supervisor of action taken.
Participates on process improvement teams.
Shipping and receiving chemical containers.
Complete scheduled operation PM’s.
Follows standard practices and procedures as established for plant operations.
Modifies/reviews operating procedures on an annual basis.
Required member of emergency response team.
Potential OJT certification and training of new operators as required.
Performs all necessary housekeeping duties in area.
Hazardous waste sampling, hazardous waste packaging/loading duties, container marking and labeling, hazardous waste container handling and management, respond to chemical spills and releases, and conduct and document routine inspections.
Performs all other duties as required/assigned.
Able to climb 50 feet of stairs at times, work in PPE, open/close valves, and lift up to 35 pounds.
Schedule
Working rotating shifts 7 days on/7 days off. Shift hours: 5AM-5PM day shift and 5PM-5AM night shift.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
3+ years’ experience working within a manufacturing environment preferred.
Valid driver's license.
Experienced in a chemical manufacturing plant preferred.
Experience with OSHA/PSM regulations.
Knowledgeable in safety, quality and process controls.
Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is $23/Hour.
