
Cosmetology Instructor

Our valued instructors are responsible for preparing students for the Cosmetology Certification Exam through effective classroom instruction, hands‑on demonstrations, and delivery of the ESI‑approved curriculum. Instructors must have extensive, first‑hand knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, safety practices, and practical application.
The instructor assumes full ownership of their assigned class and is responsible for student participation, attendance, retention, and successful completion of the clock‑hour cosmetology program, leading to placement within the spa industry.
What you’ll do
Bring learning to life by delivering dynamic, engaging lessons using approved curriculum, lesson plans, and syllabi
Inspire students through interactive demonstrations, lectures, and real‑world practical applications
Keep students actively involved with hands‑on practice, skills assessments, and review sessions that build confidence and mastery
Track and support student success through monthly academic reviews of progress, attendance, and performance
Maintain accurate records of grades, credit hours, and work‑based assignments
Monitor attendance daily and connect with students to encourage consistency and accountability
Review and approve student timesheets with attention to detail
Create a Positive, Professional Learning Environment
Uphold dress code, policies, and Student Handbook standards while fostering respect and professionalism
Coach and counsel students when needed, supporting their growth both personally and professionally
Ensure classrooms and clinic spaces are fully equipped, organized, and ready for success
Use creative tools, media, and school resources to keep lessons fresh, exciting, and relevant
Stay current with beauty industry trends to keep students inspired and career‑ready
Lead by Example
Maintain the highest standards in safety and sanitation per GA State Board of Cosmetology guidelines
Address student concerns with professionalism and care, resolving issues at the classroom level
Motivate students to achieve at least 80% attendance and a 75% GPA—helping them stay focused on their goals
Serve as a mentor, role model, and trusted industry guide who encourages passion for the craft
Professional Standards
Follow all ESI Employee Policies, COE accreditation standards, and Department of Education regulations
Qualifications
GA State Cosmetology Instructor license in good standing
Minimum of 5 years Cosmetology experience
Preferred-2 years teaching experience
