Technical Program Manager
EG4 Electronics, Sulphur Springs, TX, United States
The Technical Program Manager, Grid Services, serves as the architect and owner of EG4’s Grid Services API Platform, combining advanced technical integration with program management and partner onboarding expertise. This role bridges hardware capabilities with utility-grade requirements, overseeing the technical execution of API-to-API integrations, and ensuring every battery in the EG4 fleet is "VPP ready." In addition to defining system requirements, specifications, and validation processes, the Senior Technical Program Manager takes full technical ownership of cross-functional programs, builds scalable processes for partner onboarding and integration, and drives program operations to meet evolving grid demands. The role is responsible for maintaining rigorous compliance standards, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and fostering strong partner relationships to support the expansion and reliability of EG4’s grid services platform.

Own the technical architecture and development of the Grid Services API Platform, ensuring robust scalability and reliability.
Drive partner onboarding and integration efforts, coordinating technical requirements, process documentation, and timelines for utility and aggregator partners.
Direct the transition of legacy integrations to modern API and EMS platforms, fostering seamless migration and operational continuity.
Oversee the development and maintenance of backend services for the virtual power plant, emphasizing high availability and publisher/subscriber architecture.
Program Management & Cross-functional Coordination
Lead the programs with cross-functional teams—including Software, Firmware, Operations, and Customer Success—to execute grid service programs and deliver on feature roadmaps.
Establish and optimize processes for partner integration, program activation, and operational excellence.
Facilitate technical and business communication between internal teams and external stakeholders, translating complex concepts for utility executives and partners.
Technical Compliance & Standards
Ensure full technical compliance with industry standards, including CSIP / IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR, and SunSpec Alliance recommendations.
Oversee telemetry standards, ensuring granular interval data collection (kW, kWh, SOC) for precise grid services and Measurement & Verification (M&V).
Maintain rigorous cybersecurity and data handling protocols to meet utility and ISO/RTO regulated program requirements.
Monitoring, Reliability, and Program Operations
Own the triage process for partner issues and bugs, identifying and resolving root causes for underperformance or anomalies in dispatch events.
Monitor integration health and latency to maintain a 99% performance reliability rate across all active VPP programs.
Identify operational risks and implement technical solutions to prevent “dual-dispatch” conflicts and ensure program integrity.
Track program performance and support continual improvement initiatives to optimize reliability and partner satisfaction.
All other duties assigned.
