We have an immediate opening for a Field Design and Estimate Coordinator at Antietam Broadband. The Field Design and Estimate Coordinator is responsible for planning, evaluating, and designing broadband network infrastructure to support Antietam Broadband’s service expansion. This role conducts detailed field surveys, develops capital cost estimates for fiber builds, and collaborates closely with sales, construction, engineering, and operations teams to ensure proposed network extensions meet technical, financial, and customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
Conduct on-site surveys at customer and prospective business locations to assess service feasibility and construction requirements.
Evaluate existing network infrastructure, including fiber routes, nodes, handholes, conduit systems, and aerial facilities, to identify the most efficient and cost-effective service paths.
Develop detailed capital expenditure (CapEx) estimates for fiber construction projects, incorporating materials, labor permitting, right-of-way, and construction methodology.
Create network design plans that balance cost, scalability, reliability, and service performance.
Partner with sales engineers and account executives to support customer proposals with accurate technical designs and cost data.
Coordinate with construction, permitting, engineering, and operations teams to validate designs, constructability, and project feasibility.
Utilize GIS, AutoCAD, and internal network design tools to document proposed routes, schematics, and network layouts.
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer demand to recommend proactive network expansion opportunities.
Ensure all designs comply with Antietam Broadband engineering standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.
Support ROI modeling and business case development to inform network investment decisions.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 3 years of experience in broadband network engineering, planning, construction, or a related field.
Strong understanding of fiber‑optic network architectures, including GPON, Active Ethernet, and transport networks.
Working knowledge of construction methods such as aerial installation, underground placement, directional boring, and trenching.
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction drawings, GIS maps, and as‑built documentation.
Strong analytical skills, including cost estimation and financial modeling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with a broadband service provider or large‑scale enterprise network environments.
Proficiency in network design and mapping tools, including GIS, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.
Familiarity with permitting processes, right‑of‑way requirements, and local regulatory compliance for fiber construction.
Project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Working Conditions
Hybrid role combining office‑based design and planning with field‑based site surveys.
Regular travel to customer sites and construction locations within the assigned region.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during field surveys.
