Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Manages the day-to-day operation of beverages service on assigned shift.
Responsible for successful operation of VIP Rooms and Pool Bar on assigned shift.
Ensures that all beverage products served meet the established specifications and standards.
Prepares and pours drink orders with proper portions and ingredients according to recipe, communicates with beverage servers and presents drinks to guest or servers as required.
Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
Maintains a clean and stocked workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines when scheduled as a bartender.
Operates a cash register/POS System, ringing proper amount into the register and giving the guest or server the correct change; accounts for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedure; maintains integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.
Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines.
Ensures the minimum level of labor issued to perform the required level of service.
Completes the required daily financial tools and reports when scheduled.
Executes and audits beverage inventory and cost control systems and procedures when scheduled.
Acts immediately on any guest complaint to ensure corrections are made and the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee invocations are made.
Ensures all service equipment is handled safely and with reasonable care, reporting mechanical problems to the proper department.
Conducts the service education program; coaches, reinforces, and leads personnel in the proper performance of their duties.
Enforces all appearance and uniform guidelines and all regulatory, internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Performs duties of Food Supervisor and Kitchen Supervisor as necessary.
Outstanding example of and a credit to Downstream Casino Resort.
Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner always. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Attends all necessary training meetings.
Reports directly to the Beverage Supervisor.
Mandatory workdays for all scheduled holidays and special events.
Serves as a liaison between employees and managers.
Attend mandatory monthly meetings with the Beverage Manager.
Weekly check off for all weekly cleaning assignments.
Ensures guest service is being met by all co-workers – report areas of concern to management.
Qualifications and Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.
Must be 21 years of age.
High school graduate or equivalent with some college background preferred.
2 to 4 years beverage experience including technical experience in beverage service business required.
Count money and change correctly.
Knows cocktail ingredients and proper mixing and pouring techniques.
Must possess good customer service, employee relations and leadership skills.
Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
Must possess excellent communications skills.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
Must be able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid liquor license in the State of Oklahoma.
Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
