Job Summary:

The Busser is responsible for cleaning and resetting tables in a professional and effective manner while providing a consistent and sustainable environment. They help support servers and service staff with refills and clearing tables while providing guests with food and beverage service as well as maintaining cleanliness in common areas of the restaurant.

Consistently offers professional and friendly service

Set up and stock assigned work area by following the established fine dining service standards and procedures.

Help servers inspect stations for proper set-up and appearance

Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils and refilling water glasses

Clear and reset tables within established standard timing and guidelines

Assist in serving coffee, tea, water, bread, butter, and other food and beverage

Assist server with all aspects of service as required while maintaining work area in a professional manner

Clean service stations, fill ice bins, and restock storage and fridge items according to established par levels

Assist with set up and breakdown of dining room facilities.

Retrieve china, silver, glassware and other stewarding items from stewarding

Polish and store equipment as designated

Able to understand and comply with all safety regulations and rules

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:

Effective communication skills, verbal and written

Ability to maintain composure and stay focused

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work as a team, stay organized, handle various tasks at one time

Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers

Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others
Professional presentation and positive attitude

Must have excellent knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions

Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented

Physical Requirements:

Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly

Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. In some instances, the entire shift

Ability to lift at least but not limited to 50 pounds and if more must be with assistance

Flexibility in the wrist to scoop, twist, push, pull, lift, and bend

Intermittent periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print)

Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects)

Ability to move quickly turning from left to right or right to left

Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40° F to -10° F
