Job Title
Mechanical Design Engineer
Overview
Responsible for defining requirements, designing, analyzing, sourcing, and testing electric motors, either permanent magnet or induction, used in gas turbine engines. The role may also involve supporting the integration of third‑party motors and controllers for test applications.
Responsibilities
Develop motor and system requirements using electromagnetic and engine system knowledge.
Conduct motor and generator design, analysis, and documentation.
Participate in system‑level trade studies with cross‑functional teams.
Assist with optimization of motor and system designs.
Create and support 3D CAD models and product definitions.
Coordinate with suppliers to source prototype and production hardware.
Support testing, qualification, and integration with test rigs and hardware.
Perform additional duties as needed.
Essential Skills
Motor design experience
Experience with 2D/3D electromagnetic design tools
Proficiency in 3D CAD and product definition
Experience specifying off‑the‑shelf motors, generators, inverters, and test equipment
System‑level design experience
Hands‑on experience with test rig design and testing
Familiarity with MATLAB and/or Python
Experience creating requirements and analysis documentation
Engineering degree
5+ years of relevant experience

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62.50 – $74.52/hr.
