seeking a
senior Database Administrator (Level 3)
with
14+ years of experience
to manage, maintain, and optimize DB2 database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DB2, Unix/Linux platforms, and database performance tuning in enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
Administer and support
DB2 databases
in enterprise environments
Manage
database performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization
Handle
installation, configuration, and maintenance
of DB2 systems
Work with
DB2 licensing (Passport Advantage)
Perform
backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
Develop and maintain
shell scripts for automation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for database support and issue resolution
Ensure
data integrity, security, and compliance standards
Required Skills & Experience
14+ years of overall IT experience
8+ years of DB2 database administration
Strong experience with
DB2 Licensing (Passport Advantage)
Experience with
AIX/UNIX/Linux environments
Hands-on experience in
Shell scripting
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with
DB2 on AIX (5+ years preferred)
Exposure to enterprise-level database environments
Strong documentation and communication skills
Work Environment & Additional Details
Hybrid role – Onsite in Austin, TX required
Candidates must be
local to Texas
Work hours:
Mon–Fri, 8 AM – 5 PM
(with flexibility as needed)
