This OPS Clerk position works 29 hours per week and is a temporary, open competitive advertisement. Applicants must clearly state qualifying responses within their employment history, including software systems, actual work experience, and years of employment.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for evaluating and reviewing license and registration applications and other data for approval or rejection based on compliance with eligibility standards and regulations. It enters and maintains data electronically using various databases including Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION) and Cash Receipt System (CRS); composes correspondence, responds to email inquiries; receives and routes incoming and outgoing mail. The position may also handle payments, refunds, daily financial reports, and reconciliation of financial ledgers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Skill in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Experience utilizing ORION, FRVIS, and/or CRS
Ability to organize and maintain filing systems
Skill in collecting fees and handling refunds
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Experience processing and routing incoming and outgoing mail
Skill in proofreading documents for accuracy and completeness
Skill in composing correspondence
Skill in typing and performing data entry
Skill in using general office equipment such as a personal computer, telephone, scanner, calculator, fax, and copier
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to work independently and with a team
Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Ability to provide customer service to both internal and external customers
General Information
Selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview
Applicants will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, including an FBI criminal history records check
OPS employees are paid biweekly; all state employees must participate in the direct deposit program
