Position
Medical Administrative / Unit Coordinator – full time day shift (Sunday, Thursday, Friday) – located in Boston, MA.

Schedule
Day shift: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm. Three shifts per week (Sunday, Thursday, Friday) plus holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

Assist in general administration of the unit.

Greet and interact with patients, families, visitors and staff professionally.

Receive, prioritize, organize and manage information at the central nursing station and throughout the unit.

Schedule consultations, tests, procedures, and patient transport to other departments.

Enter accurate and timely information about admissions, discharges and transfers in the electronic medical record.

Contact ancillary service departments to obtain equipment, services and supplies; track status and location and facilitate repairs.

Assist manager with payroll duties or scheduling of staff, or supervise unit secretaries (as needed).

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred. No experience in lieu of a degree.

Licenses/credentials: Certified Health Unit Coordinator (NAHUC) preferred.

Experience: 2–3 years of administrative support experience required.

Skills/abilities:

Proficiency with office procedures and equipment (filing, copying, scanning, printing, faxing).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Proofreading and editing of written documents.

Use of a phone system.

Time management (own and others).

Strong verbal & written communication skills.

Interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with medical terminology.

Work Details

Location: 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA.

Remote type: Onsite.

Hours: 36 hrs per week.

Shift: Day.

Pay range: $18.58 – $26.58 per hour.

Employee type: Regular.

Grade: 3.
