Summary
USAC seeks a self‑motivated buyer responsible for procuring goods and equipment vital to the organization. The buyer solicits suppliers, negotiates pricing, and arranges purchase and delivery in accordance with USAC guidelines. Experience in procurement and knowledge of compressor materials are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide project material management services, evaluating material requisitions from internal clients and sourcing materials from inventory or issuing purchase orders to vendors.

Negotiate and legally bind the company with suppliers, ensuring fair bidding, cost management, warranty, shipment, payments, and cancellation terms.

Assist in corrective action plans for failed or late deliveries.

Coordinate materials: monitor open requisitions, obtain pricing, create purchase orders, expedite orders, communicate logistics, and report to SAP.

Provide project material price estimates and solicit vendor pricing.

Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain organization, and communicate effectively with internal clients and suppliers.

Work with minimal supervision.

Requirements

2‑5 years of buying, pricing and expediting experience within a purchasing division.

Associate’s or tech degree, CSM, or equivalent experience preferred.

Strong working knowledge of natural gas compression parts, industry specifications, and procurement and supply‑chain management.

Knowledge of current market conditions, pricing and supply sources.

Ability to handle complex and confidential matters professionally.

Effective communication with all levels of internal and external personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and web‑based programs.

Familiarity with SAPMM.

Working Conditions
The work environment is normally an office setting with occasional overnight travel. 50% of the time the employee remains stationary. Occasional visits to industrial settings may involve hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, or loud machinery, requiring personal protective equipment.
