
Internal Communications Manager

Position Description
ERT is seeking an experienced Internal Communications Manager to work with our Marketing and Leadership teams in the planning, development and execution of internal communication efforts that both support the business needs of the organization and increase employee engagement with business priorities. The ideal candidate has experience at a Government contractor or within the Federal Government on internal communications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leads communication planning and execution for business initiatives and organizational changes.
Analyzes strategic inputs to develop communications that inform internal audiences.
Creates, measures, and delivers clear, engaging content across internal channels.
Develops messaging frameworks and communications for senior leaders.
Develops project plans, drafts timelines, and prioritizes tasks to achieve communication milestones.
Collects and analyzes communication metrics and employee feedback to inform content strategy and improve effectiveness.
Understands business needs and challenges, recommending communication solutions that drive clarity and impact.
Explains ideas clearly and offers alternatives.
Collaborates across departments to ensure consistent messaging and resource alignment.
Works under limited supervision, demonstrating initiative and ownership of complex communication projects.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in communications or related field.
Strong storytelling and messaging skills tailored to diverse employee audiences.
Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in writing.
Ability to analyze communication effectiveness using metrics and feedback.
Experience supporting change management and organizational initiatives.
Skilled in stakeholder management and executive communication support.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
Location
Remote with as needed travel to ERT's Tysons Corner office location for in‑person meetings.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization. ERT uses several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the position’s scope and expected duties, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
