This position will be located at 1730 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, Missouri, 65101. Work hours are Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Works with the State’s 20 Solid Waste Management Districts (SWMDs) on Financial Audits, Performance Audits, and provides technical assistance on financial questions and implementation of rules and statutes.

Reviews and analyzes grant applications from SWMDs to ensure completeness and compliance with solid waste management law, regulations.

Completes Biennial Financial Monitoring for SWMDs receiving less than $250,000 of Solid Waste funding annually.

Assists with development and implementation of Qualtrics reporting system, makes changes when needed, and trains new users/planners on completing these surveys for submission.

Attends conferences or webinars on recycling, waste reduction, composting, scrap tire, or other relevant topics to become a subject matter expert.

A candidate will need the following skills:

Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements.

Grants Management Laws, Regulations, and Guidelines: Knowledge of principles, laws, regulations, policies, practices, and guidelines (for example, Executive Orders, Code of Federal Regulations, OMB circulars) of grant or agreement programs, including their order of precedence.

Analysis and Assessment: Uses information technology in accessing, collecting, analyzing, maintaining, and disseminating data and information.

Flexibility: Is open to change and new information; rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.

Equivalent To Those Typically Gained By
Bachelor’s degree and 1‑3 years of relevant experience. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience.)
