Overview
To plan and manage the governance of business portfolios, including developing and implementing framework, methodology, and measurements for proposing, approving, and reviewing products, programs, and services, and techniques in identifying, quantifying, and tracking the realization of expected benefits. Facilitate the transformation to agile decisioning and agile delivery models and enable cross‑functional teams to integrate business capabilities. Champion innovation, process improvement, and operational excellence across the business portfolios, while developing team capabilities and fostering collaboration across the enterprise. Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, ensuring alignment with governance standards, delivery frameworks, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to drive performance, resolve risks, and support change initiatives. Develop and coach team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Reports to an AVP.

Responsibilities

Lead cross‑departmental, multi‑functional teams to deliver on portfolio objectives and business outcomes.

Partner with product, business leaders, and senior stakeholders to execute departmental strategy and drive superior results.

Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, timelines, and deliverables.

Support strategic planning, information security goals, and enterprise initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to senior management and key stakeholders.

Oversee governance activities, including performance tracking, reporting, and risk management for programs and projects.

Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to ensure alignment, resolve issues, and drive success.

Support the marketing and communication strategies to promote new team brand and portfolio and business agility transformation practices.

Monitor industry trends, innovation efforts, and regulatory changes, communicating relevant information to team members and leadership.

Identify opportunities to improve delivery, stakeholder engagement, and operational efficiency.

Lead and develop a team of managers or analysts, fostering professional growth and performance excellence.

Serve as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and external partners to support execution.

Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies; elevate and implement mitigation strategies as needed.

Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, governance standards, and industry best practices.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

7+ years of progressive portfolio management and project management experience, including managing complex, multi‑project, cross‑functional, or enterprise initiatives.

3+ years of people‑management experience leading project or program teams.

Deep knowledge of enterprise portfolio and product management methodologies, governance structures, and delivery frameworks (e.g., Agile, SAFe, Waterfall, Hybrid), with the ability to tailor approaches to organizational needs and project complexity.

Experience leading and managing cross‑functional programs and enterprise‑wide business projects that support strategic business goals, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and stakeholder expectations.

Proven ability to translate high‑level business strategies into structured, actionable plans, execution roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.

Experience managing governance processes, including performance metrics, reporting standards, risk mitigation, and vendor relationships/contracts.

Strong leadership skills in building collaborative, high‑performing teams, developing and mentoring team members, and fostering alignment across business units and support functions.

Significant experience supervising and leading professional employees.

Ability to influence and align diverse stakeholder groups, including senior leaders, to ensure program/project success and organizational buy‑in; strong relationship‑building, negotiation, and facilitation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Skill in synthesizing complex data and communicating key insights, strategies, risks, and milestones to executive stakeholders.

Understanding of organizational change management, business process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and adoption strategies to support implementation and delivery.

Advanced analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills; ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions.

Advanced skill in leveraging analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet, MS Project) to drive data‑informed decision‑making.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent programs/projects, prioritize resources, and adapt to shifting business needs.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Program Management, Product Management, Organizational Development, or related field, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Program Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI‑ACP, PgMP, SAFe Program Consultant, SAFe, Lean Portfolio Management, ITIL, or Cloud (AWS/Azure) certifications).
