Community Manager
The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire operations of a housing community under the supervision of the Regional Manager. As a Community Manager, you will manage all phases of the operations, including personnel, leasing, maintenance, financial, administration & risk management.
Responsibilities
As a leading affordable housing management company, we prefer the following experience in addition to the Essential Duties and Responsibilities outlined below for our affordable assets:
Minimum 2 years' experience with affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, HUD (Project Based Section 8, Section 236, PRAC, 811 PRA, USDA - Rural Development (515), HCD, HOME Funds and Bonds)
Affordable Housing Accreditation (HCCP, HCP‑E, COS, BOS, TCS, CPO) or other applicable designations is preferred but not required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Personnel Management: screen, hire, train, coach, develop staff; create schedules; manage performance problems; promote harmony.
Regular on‑site attendance required.
Ensure staff compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.
Financial Management: achieve net operating income, control costs, manage budgeting, manage deposits, rent collections, vendor invoices, property closeout, accurate financial reports.
Strategic Leasing Management: develop marketing plan, close leases, resolve resident complaints, implement retention programs, show and move in prospective residents.
Administrative & Maintenance Management: accurate reporting, emergency response, customer service, maintenance requests, inspections, resource planning, oversee maintenance, construction, rehab.
Education / Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred; or four years experience in housing industry; or 1‑2 years related experience.
Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred.
Basic computer skills and ability to use on‑site software.
Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach, talk, hear; walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Reasonable accommodations may be made.
License / Equipment
Reliable transportation due to the emergency on‑call requirement.
Salary Range
USD $90,000 per year to $90,000 per year.
