Hello,

We are seeking a qualified Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) to provide comprehensive medical services within a state correctional healthcare setting in Ohio. This is a contract opportunity offering flexibility, competitive compensation, and the ability to expand hours across facilities.

Position Overview

The Primary Care Physician will deliver comprehensive medical care within the scope of licensure, including routine and urgent evaluations, diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing patient management. The provider will collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams and support high quality, patient centered care in a regulated healthcare environment.

Assignment Details

  • Specialty: Primary Care (Family Medicine / Internal Medicine or related)
  • Openings: 1
  • Schedule:
    • Minimum 20 hours per week
    • Option to work up to 40 hours per week by also covering Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: July 6, 2026 (or earlier upon completion of onboarding and clearance)
  • Interview Required: Yes (Microsoft Teams)
  • Orientation: On-site
  • Charting System: Facility-based
  • Timekeeping System: Dotstaff

Compensation

  • Pay Rate: $150/hour (1099 Local)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide routine and emergency medical care of a non specialized nature
  • Perform examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and administer treatments for acute and chronic illnesses
  • Provide immunizations and preventive care services
  • Perform minor procedures as clinically appropriate
  • Monitor patient progress and maintain accurate medical documentation
  • Prepare admission, discharge, and medical evaluation reports
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
  • Provide clinical guidance to nursing and support staff
  • Participate in professional meetings and quality of care initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Active and unrestricted Ohio Medical License
  • Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related field (preferred unless contractually required)
  • DEA Registration
  • BLS/CPR Certification
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Primary Care Physician (preferred)
  • Pediatric experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to meet all federal, state, and local compliance requirements

Additional onboarding requirements may include TB screening, health certificate, and other facility or state mandated documentation.
