This position is a part-time (20-28 hours per week) or full-time (35-40 hours per week) hourly, non-exempt role. Salary: $21.00 - $24.00, per hour - see below for additional salary and benefits offered for this position. This position requires 100% on-site work at 3181 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Must be 18 years of age or older, authorized to work in the U.S., and able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds over short and low distances.
As a member of the kitchen team, you will join the team that is the hidden secret behind the Chick-fil-A brand. Our kitchen team works together to serve thousands of guests every day with excellence and care. You will have the opportunity to learn every role within our kitchen: from filleting and breading chicken, preparing fresh products, packing our made-to-order items, or baking some of our delicious cookies. All while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. Ultimately, as a member of the kitchen team, you will maintain a laser focus on food and create an extraordinary experience for every guest at all times with safe and delicious food.
As a member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for:
Preparation of food, cooking, and assembly of agricultural products, raw, cold, and hot products for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catering orders, and takeout meals
Maintaining a sparkling and clean kitchen and back-of-house
Receiving trucks and maintaining inventory organization
Following LEAN processes and procedures for quality control and inventory
Carrying out food safety and quality measures and practices, including SAFE, Daily Critical, and the daily eRQA
Collaborating with team members and upholding our mission: Excellence Every Day and Care For Everyone
Achieving annual and 90-day performance goals
A qualified candidate must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the U.S. A qualified candidate must have the ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds over short and low distances. For part-time positions: consistent weekly availability between Monday and Saturday is preferred and the ability to work at least 20 hours per week is expected for applicants who wish to be considered for part-time status. For full-time positions: open availability between Monday and Saturday is expected and the ability to work at least 35 hours per week is expected for applicants who wish to be considered for full-time status. No prior work experience is required, but preferred. You will receive on-the-job training and development throughout your career with Chick-fil-A Harbor Blvd.
Kitchen team members are expected to work regular shifts of four, six, or eight hours, at various times within the different parts of the day: morning (5:30 a.m.-2 p.m.), afternoon (11 a.m.-7:30 p.m.), or night (3:30 p.m.-12 a.m.), depending on business needs and store performance goals.
A lead candidate will have availability during two, three, or all of these part-time days regularly and also have open availability during the weekend between Thursday and Saturday.
As a member of the kitchen team, you will focus on the following areas in your daily performance:
1. Provide remarkable service
Prepare, cook, and assemble orders effectively
Follow standards for proper order presentation
Ensure accuracy of orders
Communicate effectively with front of house team about wait times and when to park cars
Know when and how to prioritize orders based on the order funnel needs
Adequate food quality and control
Maintain organizational standards
Monitor and avoid waste by following proper LEAN procedures
2. Maintain a sparkling, clean, and safe environment
Ensure that food contact surfaces are clean and sanitized before and after food preparation and at least every 4 hours for ongoing tasks
Ensure a clean and welcoming kitchen environment, including walls, floors, floor boards, ceiling, vent hood grills, and equipment
Always be prepared for internal or health department visits by following required food quality and safety processes and procedures at all times
Systematically follow all food safety procedures and standards
3. Knowledge of Chick-fil-A brand and product
Prepare, cook, and assemble all menu items correctly according to Chick-fil-A standards
Properly and safely use, clean, and maintain all kitchen and back-of-house related equipment
4. Competency in assigned kitchen stations
Stay current with training updates and new product launches for assigned stations

Primary and Secondary Screen Stations
Breading station
Hash brown/Frying station
Preparation station
Machines
Buns

1. Vesting schedules begin on the first day of employment. However, paid sick leave is not available until after 90 days of employment.
