Piper Companies is seeking a
Senior Infrastructure Engineer
to support an industry leader in American tobacco manufacturing for a 12-month contract term, hybrid role based in Greensboro, NC. The
Senior Infrastructure Engineer
role focuses on providing technical leadership across the organization's enterprise infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Providing senior level technical leadership and oversight to ensure reliable delivery and performance of company's enterprise Windows, virtualization, and storage environments.
Design, implement, administer, and support Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, patching, and system hardening.
Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clustering, resource optimization, and high availability.
Design, manage, and support enterprise storage platforms (SAN/NAS), including capacity planning, performance optimization, data protection, and lifecycle management.
Coordinate and execute system maintenance, upgrades, patches, and new technology deployments in accordance with established change management procedures.
Deliver complex infrastructure projects within aggressive timelines and budget constraints.
Qualifications
8+ years of prior infrastructure experience
Proven experience with Windows, VMware, and Storage
Prior experience with IT lifecycle refresh, disaster recovery
Proven experience with capacity planning for physical and virtual server and storage platforms
Experience in Linux/AIX preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Compensation
Salary range: $135,200 – $140,000 USD per year depending on professional experience
