L&A Tester Position
We are seeking detail-oriented and dependable individuals to join our team as L&A (Logic & Accuracy) Testers in support of upcoming elections in Princess Anne, MD (Somerset County Eastern Shore). In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that voting equipment is functioning accurately and securely prior to Election Day. This position is ideal for individuals who are organized, reliable, and comfortable working with technology in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
L&A Testers must be available for up to four (4) weeks prior to each election. This period typically begins approximately four (4) to six (6) weeks before Election Day. Work will primarily take place at the assigned Local Board of Elections office, with occasional travel required within the county and, infrequently, throughout the State of Maryland.
Key Responsibilities
Perform Logic and Accuracy (L&A) testing on voting equipment
Test ballot scanners, ballot marking devices, and electronic pollbooks to ensure proper functionality
Accurately document testing results and report any issues or discrepancies
Follow strict procedures and security protocols when handling election equipment
Assist with setup, breakdown, and organization of testing areas
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet testing deadlines
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully
Basic computer and technical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the assigned area
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to security procedures
Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends if needed
