Job Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, Cardiac Surgery Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. The role will work in a 24‑bed critical care unit and provide pre‑ and post‑operative care for cardiac surgery patients as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes surgeons, intensivists, NPs, and PAs.
Responsibilities
Provide pre‑ and post‑operative care for cardiac surgery patients in the 24‑bed critical care unit.
Perform procedural skills such as central line placements, arterial line insertions, and other clinical interventions.
Initiate appropriate interventions, orders, and diagnostics based on patient status.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, NPs, and PAs in an interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications
Master's degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
NP or PA certification and a valid New Jersey license.
DEA and CDS registrations required.
ACLS and BLS certifications required.
Minimum of 2‑3 years of critical care or cardiology experience.
Excellent communication and computer skills.
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as a team player.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $58.56 – $103.06
Assignment category: Per Diem
Hours per week: 0.01
Primary shift: Varies
Salary administration plan: RNS
