Urgent Care Physician Assistant

Facility in Martinsville, VA seeking PA-c Urgent Care locums coverage Rates: $120/hr Opportunity Highlights

• Start Date: Ongoing as needed.
• Schedule: Variable shifts in an urgent care setting.
• Autonomy: High; the PA will work independently with a supervising physician available via phone.
• EMR: Anthem.

Clinical Scope & Procedures The clinic provides a mix of episodic acute care and employer-focused occupational health services for all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Urgent Care Duties:

• Treatment of acute illnesses (flu, strep, infections).
• Management of minor injuries (sprains, strains, lacerations).
• Procedures: Suturing, splinting, and basic incision and drainage.

Occupational Health Duties:

• Injury Treatment: Management of workplace-related injuries and Workers' Compensation cases.
• Physicals: DOT physicals, pre-employment screenings, and fit-for-duty exams.
• Testing: Drug and alcohol screenings and pulmonary function testing.

Provider Requirements

• Credential Accepted: Physician Assistant (PA-C).
• Board Status: Board Certified (NCCPA) Required.
• Licensure: Active Virginia (VA) License in hand Required.
• Geography: Local candidates only Required.
• Certifications: Active BLS Required.
• Experience: Previous experience in both Urgent Care and Occupational Health is highly preferred.
