Administrative And Clerical Duties For Patient Registration And Scheduling
Performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties to manage patient registration and scheduling.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and state criminal background check and federal background check as required for regulated areas.
Core job duties and responsibilities include obtaining demographic, billing, and insurance information from patients, preparing necessary paperwork, collecting payments, scheduling appointments, and following up on accounts.
Physical requirements include frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping, as well as visual acuity, manual dexterity, and reading comprehension.
The work environment is high volume and fast paced, with exposure to communicable diseases and frequent interactions with patients, medical staff, and support staff.
Skills and abilities include accurate use of computer software, knowledge of medical insurance requirements, attention to detail, organization, communication skills, and basic medical terminology.
