Medical Director Physician

A Medical Director Neonatologist opportunity is available within a growing Level III NICU. This position combines clinical care with administrative oversight, working closely with hospital leadership and mentoring physicians. It is a full-time, permanent role ideal for an experienced neonatologist seeking both leadership and clinical responsibilities.

Dates / Schedule

• Schedule: One week on / one week off (full-time)
• Call: From home while on service
• Start: Permanent position (as soon as credentialed)
• Requirement: Must reside locally (relocation may be required)

Job Details / Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in a Level III, 10-bed NICU ( 1,000 annual births)
• Serve as Medical Director, including:
  • Oversight of NICU practice operations
  • Collaboration with hospital administration and regional leadership
  • Driving program growth and quality initiatives
• Mentor and support physicians and clinical staff
• Perform daily rounding with support from full-time NNP coverage
• Engage in leadership roles within the hospital and community
• Practice within a well-recognized health system serving west Georgia and east Alabama

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified in Pediatrics
• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
• Fellowship-trained in Neonatology (required prior to start)
• Georgia medical license (or willingness to obtain)
• DEA required prior to start
• NPDB self-query (within 30 days) required at submission
• Clean malpractice and license history strongly preferred
• Leadership experience or interest in medical directorship/administration
