Downtown Campus Manager
As a Downtown Campus Manager at SSC, you will oversee the cleanliness, sanitation, and security of assigned buildings within a downtown Higher Education or K12 campus. This role is responsible for managing daily campus operations related to janitorial services, coordinating staff activities, and ensuring all facilities meet SSC standards and client expectations. The Downtown Campus Manager plays a key leadership role in delivering a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming campus environment while serving as the primary point of contact for campus administrators and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Provide campus-wide leadership for all janitorial operations across assigned downtown campus buildings, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Lead, coordinate, and oversee all janitorial personnel, ensuring smooth daily operations and alignment with SSC policies and performance standards.
Supervise, coach, and mentor supervisors and hourly team members, supporting professional development and reinforcing accountability and performance expectations.
Conduct routine campus inspections, proactively address service concerns or complaints, and implement corrective actions to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Manage campus equipment maintenance and oversee inventory control of cleaning supplies to ensure operational efficiency and task completion.
Serve as the primary liaison between campus administrators, building occupants, and janitorial teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment with campus goals.
Ensure all campus services are completed on time and to established standards, fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Cross-train and develop team members to support campus flexibility, coverage needs, and succession planning.
Monitor campus budgets and report financial concerns, demonstrating strong fiscal stewardship and supporting cost-effective campus operations.
Preferred Qualifications
College degree preferred.
One to two years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, facilities, or a service-related field with significant customer or client interaction.
Strong work ethic with a demonstrated commitment to quality, accountability, and customer service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a campus organization.
Proven problem-solving skills in both individual and group settings.
Ability to lead, engage, and motivate diverse teams in a campus environment.
Working knowledge of budgeting processes, including basic profit and loss concepts.
Strong administrative, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize competing campus needs.
Ability to operate and work with heavy cleaning equipment.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with the ability to safely operate company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.
