Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Technician – Contract

Key Responsibilities
Support CADD/Geospatial sites across the Commonwealth, providing in‑person or remote assistance.
Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and remedial actions for specialized CADD/engineering software and hardware.
Configure, evaluate, and develop operational and data standards for new CADD software.
Assist with drafting and design standard creation using Bentley MicroStation and related Bentley Suite products.
Write and maintain basic scripts and macros to enhance tool functionality.
Read, interpret, and document technical manuals, schematics, and procedures in English.
Train end users on CADD products and lead Tier 1 and Tier 2 support initiatives.
Plan, schedule, and execute hardware deployments, device imaging, product testing, and inventory management.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, end users, and deployment teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 4 years of client‑server software support experience, including user training, documentation, and administrative configuration.
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) preferred; 4 years on the job with MS Windows client and server OS (Windows 7 and above, Windows Server 2008 and above).
Experience with Bentley MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and related Bentley products.
Hands‑on knowledge of large‑format plotters (color and B/W) and scanners.
Experience with PDF solutions (Adobe Pro / BlueBeam) and SCCM (2010 and higher).
Programming exposure to SQL, .NET, Web Design, Visual Studio, or similar platforms.
Understanding of 3‑D modeling, Lidar processing, and point‑cloud technology.
Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel as required, occasionally overnight.
Travel & Equipment
Occasional travel to other districts and/or overnight stays for training may be required. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and use their personal vehicle to travel to and from sites, as well as transport computer equipment. Client will cover expenses within the Commonwealth’s Expense Reimbursement Guidelines and Policies.
