Summary
The main function of this role is to lead the research of market conditions in local, regional, or national areas to determine potential sales of a product or service. The position is responsible for gathering information on competitors and methods of marketing and distribution.
Responsibilities
Partner with relevant business teams to provide an understanding of consumer usage and behaviors across their consumer experience journey.
Work in partnership with the Cross Category Senior Director in managing research projects related to corporate marketing priorities.
Gather and analyze consumer data and support cross-functional teams with their strategies and tactics.
Develop trends reports on corporate marketing key initiatives.
Analyze CRM dashboards to improve the quality of CRM programs.
Generate weekly social listening reports for the company and competitors.
Leverage secondary/syndicated research and conduct primary research to provide actionable insights.
Manage the full scope of research projects including understanding business issues, developing research briefs, recommending methodologies, managing vendors, and delivering insights.
Advise business and other groups on factors affecting the buying and selling of products and services.
Develop pricing strategies balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.
Direct the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of marketing and sales staff and oversee their daily activities.
Formulate, direct, and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services.
Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, product management, sales, or a related field.
5-8 years experience in market research, marketing, trade marketing, product management, sales, or a related field.
Experience in analyzing consumer data and providing insights that drive business, including research methods and statistics.
Electronics/mobile industry research experience strongly preferred; otherwise must have consumer packaged goods research experience.
Desired Skills
Strong business acumen to understand and address business issues.
Excellent interpersonal communication, engagement, and influencing skills.
Strong proficiency in developing PowerPoint presentations and analyzing data in Excel.
Ability to manage projects under minimal supervision and achieve team goals within established time frames.
